How Will You Enjoy Your Après-Ski Time This Season?

If you’re an avid skier, then there’s nothing more invigorating that taking to the slopes for hours at a time, feeling the sun on your face and taking in the scenes. But whether you’re skiing with friends, or going it alone, there’s no denying that coming together after your time on the pistes is all part and parcel of any ski getaway.

Après-Ski, meaning ‘after ski’, for many is as important as the skiing itself, and we can understand why! But what does après-ski mean to you, and how do you like to kick back after a hard day on the slopes?

If you’re lacking inspiration, you’ve come to the right place! Here are some of the best ways to enjoy your sacred après-ski time this season, as well as some important dos and don’ts!

#1 Did someone say drinks?

It can be tricky to stick together if you’re in a large group during any getaway, but on the slopes – it’s almost impossible! Whether it’s different ski abilities, varying levels of stamina or simply that some of your group want to spend half their day shopping – you’re unlikely to finish up at the end of your ski session with everyone you started it with.

But – that’s what makes après-ski so special. It’s the perfect opportunity to link back up after a long day and enjoy some drinks together. And, whether it’s a cosy hot chocolate or fresh and crisp cocktails, here at El Lodge – we’ve got the perfect setting for you to socialise with your loved ones.

#2 Getting cosy

Like with most things, there are some dos and don’ts when it comes to how you should participate in après-ski, and it starts with what you wear! When you stay with us at El Lodge, we want you to feel like you’re at a home away from home, free to dress comfortably and in what makes you feel good.

So, when après-ski time comes around, it’s time to ditch the skis (these don’t belong in the bar area). Otherwise, you can chill out in your ski clothes, or stash some of your outer layers in your room before cosying up with friends to chat about your day in complete comfort.

#3 Let your hair down

Although super freeing and enjoyable, for many a day on the slopes is hard graft and pretty tiring. That means you deserve to let your hair down afterwards, and après-ski time is the perfect opportunity for you to do just that.

The dos of après-ski

Après-ski is all about unwinding and having fun, so eating, drinking and being merry with loved ones is an absolute must! Whatever relaxing means to you, that’s how you should be enjoying your time off the slopes.

The don’ts of après-ski

As we said, we want you to feel at home during your stay with us, but there are a couple of etiquette requirements we have, so that you and the rest of our guests can get the most of their après-ski time. We do ask that you:

  • Leave your skis at the door
  • Don’t remove your ski boots inside our Sun Deck or other restaurants
  • Drink responsibly – everyone deserves to unwind, just be mindful of your fellow skiers!

Are you ready to  après-ski with El Lodge?

Here at El Lodge, we understand what makes for a truly unbeatable après-ski, which is why we have organised a live DJ to perform every afternoon during the whole month of February at our Sun Deck.

So, whilst you’re taking in the stunning scenes of the slopes, you can be enjoying signature cocktails, snuggled beneath our faux-fur throws, and enjoying the sounds of our resident DJ. Bliss.
