The Sun Deck

Dine-in Style at The Sun Deck

Ski-in from the slopes to The Sun Deck, Sierra Nevada’s only ski-in/ski-out restaurant. The fusion menu features everything from warm consommés and homemade soups to BBQ platters and kid’s menus, making this the perfect lunch pit stop.

Or, if you’d like to enjoy a signature cocktail or a crisp Gin & Tonic, stay warm between runs with faux-fur throws and artisan tables with built-in fireplaces. We also provide an ongoing boot-heating service so you can extend your stay well into the afternoon.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of food is served at The Sun Deck?

The Sun Deck restaurant serves light bites for lunch and afternoon snacks, plus a variety of drinks. As the only ski-in, ski-out restaurant in the Sierra Nevada resort, it’s the perfect place to cool down and grab something to eat after working up an appetite on the slopes.

Even if you haven’t been engaging in snow sports, The Sun Deck is also available for El Lodge guests looking for a late brunch or light lunch, either after an indulgent spa treatment or before proceeding with their afternoon and evening activities.

The carefully selected Mediterranean fusion menu offers a variety of hot and cold food and drinks to suit every palate, including sharing platters, soups, salads, and sandwiches. We have a range of main dishes for those in search of something heartier, plus a children’s menu to satisfy picky little ones.

You can also treat yourself to a little something sweet if you so desire, with several luxurious desserts to choose from. With the stunning view of the mountains and music to create a lovely atmosphere, you can’t beat a hot chocolate or a cocktail at The Sun Deck with a sweet or savoury bite on the side.

Does The Sun Deck offer vegetarian options?

We aim to cater to individual dietary requirements at The Sun Deck, with at least one vegetarian option available for each menu section. If you are vegan or prefer dairy-free options, please let us know and our chefs will do their best to advise you and accommodate your needs within the set menu.

Our creative menu includes a range of meats, seafood, fungi, fruits, vegetables, and dairy, so please do enquire if you would like further information about the contents of a dish or possible alternatives with adjusted ingredients.

We’re confident that we can provide a delicious meal for everyone who dines at The Sun Deck. As we use seasonal fresh produce in many of our dishes, our menu may be subject to change, but you can always check on the day of your visit for current availability.

If you have an allergy, please inform our team in advance of your visit to The Sun Deck, if possible – we will do what we can to cater to your dietary needs.

When does The Sun Deck open and close?

We have four restaurants at El Lodge which are open during varying hours of the day, ensuring that our guests can enjoy a drink and/or a meal from morning to evening. The Sun Deck is our lunchtime eatery, which is open and serving food from 1pm to 4pm only.

As we are a ski-in, ski-out restaurant with guests and customers dropping by at any time during our opening hours, we cannot always guarantee availability – so we recommend making a table reservation for a scheduled time if your heart is set on enjoying more than a drink and snack.

You can reserve a spot at The Sun Deck either by calling or emailing our team, or enquiring at the desk during your stay. If The Sun Deck is busy or closed at the time of your visit, our other restaurants are open at the following times:

  • The Bar – open daily for drinks between 4pm12am.
  • The Lounge – open daily for snacks and drinks between 11am12am (adults only from 9pm).
  • The Grill – open daily for breakfast between 8am11am and dinner between 8pm11pm.

Please note that while our dining areas are family-friendly, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and The Lounge is open for adults only between 9pm12am.
